Most Inspiring. “Hogs Haven Exclusive: A Day In The Life of Pierre Garcon VIDEO” by Harrison Weinhold at Hogs Haven. Washington Redskins’ receiver Pierre Garçon delivers jerseys to three high school football teams in the D.C. area. Lots of happy kids!

Best Hypothetical Question. “What if Jesus had a Gag Reflex?” by Zack Hunt at The American Jesus. Hunt describes how The Gospel Coalition chooses their own squeamishness over … THE GOSPEL.

Most Moving. “Enveloped by Love,” by Melissa Hart in Brain Child Magazine. A warning to all parents: you will tear up by the end of this story.

Best Reminder. “10 Ways We Water Down the Gospel” by Benjamin L. Corey at Formerly Fundie.

(T)he truth is, we all water down the gospel. The problem comes, when we chronically see “the others” as the ones doing the watering down, instead of first looking at ourselves.

I think Jesus told a story about that once… something about a beam vs. a splinter… yet, I digress.

Best (and Most Embarrassing) List. “The Ugliest Churches in the World” by Nicholas G. Hahn at Real Clear Religion. The embarrassing part (for me anyway)? Most of the churches are Catholic.

Best Essay (maybe of the year). The Fight for Black Men” by Joshua DuBois at The Daily Beast. With more African-American men in prison, on probation, or on parole today than were enslaved in 1850, the fight is far from won.

Saddest Followup. “Supperjumpin’: The world’s worst, saddest sport goes airborne” by Bill Hanstock at SB Nation.

Trans-pacific supperjump

A sad sport made even sadder by three vertical videos.

He needs to watch this best PSA ever (from June 2012) by Glove and Boots (via YouTube).

To quote Mario, “You’re not shooting that right, dummy!”
