Six years ago today, we celebrated our first Halloween with Anna.
This was our last carved Jack O’ Lantern: painting them is much faster and easier and allows Anna to be involved. Julia carved Pooh Bear from a pattern and added the “Hunny” pot in a moment of inspiration. Note how she matches the backwards “N” on Pooh’s pot. A wonderful attention to detail: I love it!
Pooh Bear dressed as a bee was our costume choice, of course. Isn’t she adorable?
Anna had no idea what was going on, but she loved the attention. She still loves attention and dressing up too. The candy is a nice bonus: she fills up her snack drawer and has ample treats until Christmas. It’s no wonder Halloween is her favorite holiday.
This Pooh Bear—one of many we bought for her when she was little—was the inspiration for her costume. He liked the candy too: so much we could get the wrapper off before he took a nibble. Silly ol’ bear!
I’ll be back in the next day or two with pictures of Anna’s latest costume. In the mean time, I hope you all have a happy and safe Halloween.
